| This is ACL 4-8-4 1605 on the turntable at Uceta roundhouse in Tampa, circa
1952. Its a colorized shot by Wm J Lenoir and is from my collection. These engines ran most crack passenger trains between Jacksonville and Richmond. However, due to their length, they were maintained by the Tampa shops and regularly came to Tampa for maintenance. These locos were delivered from Baldwin with bad counterbalancing that was later adjusted but the were very hard on rail. Built in 1938, they were the last steam ordered by ACL. All were scrapped. |

to Albany, GA where CofG took over. |
